How it Works

Complimentary Phone Consultation

We start by setting up a complimentary 30-minute phone consultation where you are able to share you concerns regarding your child's learning/development, gain information about our services, as well as have the opportunity to ask us questions on how we can help you and your family.

Initial Assessment

On the first home visit, we will complete a variety of assessments (sensory, motor, language, executive function, learning style, etc.) based upon the information provided on the developmental intake questionnaire you complete and return prior to our arrival. This first appointment can sometimes take 2-3 hours based upon the needs, attention, and developmental level of your child.

Follow-Up Visits

Each follow-up visit is spaced approximately 3-4 weeks apart. This allows your family enough time to implement the strategies and exercises provided into your routine, as well as time for the brain to make new connections/pathways. At each follow-up visit we will go over whats going well, what might still be challenging, a check-in on how school is going, develop/discuss family goals, and our recommendations for exercises/strategies over the next 3-4 weeks.

How much support will we need?

The number of monthly sessions each family needs will vary based on several factors including:

  • The complexity of your child's developmental and learning needs

  • Consultant, parent and child schedules

  • Frequency and fidelity of parent/child follow through of recommended exercises/strategies

Most of our families require an average of 5-6 consultation sessions beyond the initial assessment visit to get their child/family back on track. However, as we begin to make changes within the brain, new or different symptoms/behaviors and skill deficits may raise requiring additional support beyond the 5-6 visits.

Tele-Learning Consultation

Don't live in Minnesota or even the Twin Cities Metro? No problem! We can still provide families with valuable tools, strategies, and resources to help your child thrive in school. We do this through a video-conferencing platform (Google Hangout, Zoom, or Skype).
